Thank you for sharing. My coworker and I came up with a similar idea using sentence strips. I have them at school so i don't have a picture. But, we took a strip and folded so it was like stairs. So, unfolded it would look like this:__ 0 0 0 + __ 0 0 + ___ 0 + ___ (we go to a 1000)So, the + signs are all folded ontop of the 0s (hiding them). The ___ are the parts that are showing when folded. We laminate it so we can reuse. The we write numebr on the ___ and unfold to help with place value and expanded form. (I don't blog so its probably very confusing, but I was excited to share with someone:))
I would love to download these, but it is telling me I need to be a member of scribd. Any chance you can email me them? firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks so mcuh.
