Well guys it's that time of the year where we start recognizing all of our little ones for what they've achieved this year. Our awards ceremony is on Tuesday and we're only given 15 minutes to recognize all of our guys. Plus the administrators only give us certain awards to pass out so I really hate seeing those kiddos who leave the ceremony with only one award. So I'm having another ceremony in my classroom with my students when we're done just so nobody feels left out. I wanted to share with you my awards just in case any of you are having the same issues I am or just want to add something extra fun into your final days of school. Below I've attached a preview of the awards for you guys to check out. In all their are 16 awards for you to choose from and I'm going to give a set away for free to the first 2 followers that leave a comment! If anyone is interested the set will be available on my TPT store.

What's been going on in my room?
So last week we managed to finish some fun projects involving area, idioms, procedural text and character traits with schema, text evidence and inferencing! Oh yea did I mention field day? My kids were wore out Friay afternoon. Here's some pics of the final projects. FYI excuse the fat fingers it's amazing how much your hands and feet swell at the end of the day when your 5 1/2 months pregnant.
Area - students made area boards using post its and competed with each other to see who could toss the most paper clips onto their board. After we were finished we came together and talked about what factors contributed to them being able to toss the paper clip on to the area board. When finished students made area animals and used mathematical vocabulary to write about whose animal had the greatest and least amount of area. * the record sheet for the area animals was found on chalktalk a kindergarten blog!

Idioms - for idioms I found a cute mini unit on pinterest but I can't remember the author :( so if this is your unit thank you so much it was a huge help and my students loved it.
Procedural Text - We finally got a chance to do the bubble gum writing! My students were so excited to chew gum in school!
Lastly we have our Leo the Lions that focused on sharacter traits, schema, text evidence and inferencing. I really think they turned out great! I f ound a character trait template on pinterest from a 2nd grade teacher in Texas so if this is you thank you so much! The Leo the Lion was created by my very creative dual language teammate Mrs. G at 2ndadventureswithmrsg.blogspot.com. If your a dual language or bilingual teacher you should really check out her blog she's starting to post alot of freebies!
Well that ends our very busy week!

Oh my!
It's seriously been a long time since I have posted on my little blog. I welcome all the new followers I have gained and I promise I will get back into the groove of posting things soon. We have only 5 weeks left of school! Woohoo! This summer is going to be super busy for me due to trainings, taking care of my daughter, getting things ready for next year and preparing the house for our new edition! Which is a major reason I've been absent for a couple of months my little boy has been draining all my energy. We are finishing up our area unit on Tuesday and I have tons of pics of the activities we've done in class that I will post soon. I'm off to see the Avengers!
